TRIGGER WARNING FOR SLAVERY, TORTURE, VIOLENCE, DRUGS, SEXUAL CONTENT, CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE / INCEST, DEATH / SUICIDE.

SPOILERS BELOW.

Slavery: This is one of the main themes The Captive Prince. Akielons keep slaves, though they are usually far more willing to be a part of that lifestyle than the ones sent to Vere. Veretians keep pets, who have contracts and are treated almost like slaves. Their consent is a little more firm, though in canon it is pointed out that being poor and in need does not necessarily make a person of sound and willing mind. Laurent is shown to be against the idea of slavery ( and some pets ) from the outset, however when it comes to Damen he treats him like one. His lack of consent in the matter is often acknowledged, but rarely rectified. It may come up in conversation, but at their canon point it would be highly unlikely to be between anyone who was not there. At most, it may come in the form of discussing who would serve a member of royalty.

Torture: There are a few scenes of torture throughout the series. A number of them, Laurent is the one to instigate it. They may come up, as Damen bears the scars from his flogging, but again it is unlikely something that would be discussed at great length or bragged about.

Violence: Laurent comes from a violent canon, it is usually typical of historical fantasy. This isn't something that would be shied away from if it came up in conversation, as a Prince who has lost both brother and father in battle, and seen a fair few of his own, it is almost common place in his world and may very well affect the narrative.

Drugs: He has had someone drugged against their will, and been drugged against his own. This is not common, but it does often make an appearance in meta. Laurent may check his glass for residue etc.

Sexual Content: There are many forms of this within The Captive Prince. This includes consensual, dubious consent, and non-consensual sex. Veretians make a play out of rape in particular, though for the most part the consent is only dubious. Laurent does attempt to have Damen publicly raped in one such arena, but it is not by himself, and later we see him treat others who have suffered such an ordeal with kindness. Generally, he finds the thing abhorrent. This will not come up in conversation with people, unless they are the first to instigate the topic, or it is mentioned in the meta towards Damen and it will be warned about in advance. When it comes to consensual sex, however, Laurent has no filter. He's described as having a mouth on him, and can talk about sex in quite obvious and detailed ways. He's not afraid to use derogatory words - though they don't have the same reactions in his canon as they might in a game setting - nor is he ashamed of letting people know he has it.

Child Sexual Abuse / Incest: Laurent was sexually abused by his uncle during his teenage years. He has all kinds of issues and triggers surrounding this and therefore it is very unlikely that it will ever come up in regards to himself. It may be mentioned in the meta, but the content of the game does not often lend itself naturally to that, so it would be a rare and forewarned occurrence. However, he makes no secret of the fact that his uncle's preference was young boys and has mentioned it explicitly, though only when it comes to the now grown adults who have lived through it.

Death / Suicide: Death is common in Laurent's canon. He's seen people be killed and he has killed. There is suicide within canon. He will not shy away from this, if it comes up.

Laurent's Permissions

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: This is a hard no. Laurent doesn't like being touched and will only allow it from a very select few. Unless he is the one to initiate, he will not react kindly to having any kind of physical touched forced upon him. It is likely he will go cold and potentially aggressive in response.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: He's never one to shy away from a fight, so violence of a physical nature is definitely on the cards. Obviously I'd like to plot this out beforehand, as he's skilled with a sword and tricky when it comes to a duel, but it's not something Laurent would icly have a problem with.

RELATIONSHIPS: Romantic relationships are another hard no. He's in a very committed relationship with a very gigantic man who knows all of his issues and cares regardless. He won't be looking for anything else and would definitely sneer at any suggestion he might. As for friendships, that can be tricky. I'm open to working on it.

MENTAL INFORMATION: He's an average human, so he has no defenses against mental or magical powers. He is quite clever though, and thinks fast. Where he aware he were being controlled he might be able to fight it off? But as always, plotting in advance would be appreciated.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: A few scars, but nothing too daunting. He does have list of psychological triggers and issues the length of his arm, though that's usually tightly under control.
